Jim – Founder, Owner, and Problem Solver
I’m Jim, the founder and owner of Northern Utah Handyman Services (NUHS). Before making NUHS my full-time focus, I spent many years teaching engineering, robotics, design, and technology. That background taught me to approach problems methodically, understand how things work, and find practical solutions when the obvious answer isn’t always the best one.
NUHS originally started as a small side business built around something I have always enjoyed—building, repairing, improving, and figuring things out. Over the years, it steadily grew through repeat customers, referrals, and a reputation for dependable, quality work. What began as a side hustle has now become my full-time business and a growing team serving homeowners and property owners throughout Northern Utah.
My background in construction, technology, engineering education, and problem-solving influences the way I approach every project. Whether we’re troubleshooting an unusual repair, improving an existing home, or taking on a larger remodeling project, I believe in understanding the problem first and then finding a solution that makes sense for the customer.

Bruce – Senior Technician & Construction Specialist
Bruce brings more than 40 years of hands-on construction experience to Northern Utah Handyman Services. He is a journeyman painter with extensive experience in concrete finishing, repairs, remodeling, and general construction.
That depth of experience gives Bruce an exceptional eye for identifying problems and understanding how different parts of a home or building work together. Whether he is completing a detailed interior paint project, repairing damaged concrete, or tackling an unusual repair, he approaches the work with patience, craftsmanship, and a commitment to doing it correctly.
Customers appreciate Bruce not only for his knowledge and skill, but also for his approachable manner and the care he brings to each project. He takes pride in work that is functional, durable, and looks like it belongs there.
